Of Two Minds Review -- Constructive Hypertexts

By constructive use, Joyce means using hypertext for invention or analysis. Instead of an audience, constructive hypertexts rely on scriptors who,

"...use a body of information that they map according to their needs, their interests, and the transformations they discover as they invent, gather, and act upon that information" (42).

Furthermore,

"A constructive hypertext should be a tool for inventing, discovering, viewing and testing multiple, alternative organizational structures of thought with more traditional ones and transforming one into the other" (43).
