A slightly overworked observation: that language is always already metaphor.

what, when, how, where, why
will we deploy the metaphoricity of language when we claim to teach writing.
The metaphoric field or terrain that I navigate while
conducting the composition classroom borrows its vocabulary,
history, and conceptual framework from JAZZ MUSIC.
