The Optics

Carlos D. Aizenman-Stern

Aizenman-Stern's "The Optics" is an interesting collection of text and image, with some material borrowed directly from Joshua Rappaport's "The Hero's Face." In this spirit of appropriation, Aizenman-Stern directs the reader to take over his text. He warns the user to "keep in mind that the only purpose of this text is play. Words for the sake of words, it is a play of associations. . .adding a lexia is like fitting a piece of a jigsaw puzzle. . . I hand you my scalpel and my pen an invite you to dissect, cut open, rupture and rebuild 'The Optics.'"
