There is clearly a crisis. There is a point at which hypertext disseminates consciousness and control so far that tradtional notions of textuality and creation are no longer appropriate in any way. Even from within the role of the hypertext reader/writer, there is a loss of control. How does one make meaning in such a new realm? New meaning and rules (no rules, individual rules?) must be given to the whole of reading/writing....

When the darkness and the crisis come together, learning spaces emerge. It is where our understandings happen, where our sight is most powerful. This crisis is cathartic and positive.
