What Matters Who Writes? What Matters Who Responds?

This lesson came home to Lisa and me in a big way this last year when, after two years of struggling to write an essay analyzing and criticizing our own past work on audience we realized the degree to which our personas in that earlier essay were "written" extensively by our investment in schooling and in the discourse of education. Two years and six completely different drafts later, this essay is finally headed for print and should be out in the May issue of CCC.
